Sal has been working compassionately and successfully with kids, families, individuals, and organizations for over thirty years.
His core fundamental beliefs of the inherent goodness of people, his depth of experience, and his breath of educational acumen have allowed a unique and healing insight into the lives of all people.
Sal is a counselor, teacher, coach, administrator, and minister. Under his guidance and leadership he helped transform a parish youth and family ministry, tripling its size, into a thriving, joy-filled, empathetic place where all felt welcomed and appreciated,
At his core, he is a youth worker, walking with thousands of young people through the years in solidarity, compassion, and an unyielding belief in their goodness. He is describe by many as one of the best youth workers in the country.
Through his involvement with adolescents and families, he has witnessed first hand the effects of massive emotional trauma on communities and individuals-especially our young people. Through his compassion and expertise he has developed innovative ways to help people to grieve, to heal, and to thrive once again.
He is a national presenter on the subject of healing trauma, where it is consistently said of him, "You're changing the conversation. Your mission is impacting lives and that's inspiring."
Sal earned a Master's in Pastoral Ministry/Counseling from Boston College. He completed a Master's of Education from Emmanuel College. He also earned a double major in Economics and American Studies from Providence College. Sal is a Myers-Briggs certified presenter, and has completed untold hours of study in the field of understanding emotional trauma.
In 2015 The Town of Winchester selected Sal as its Outstanding Citizen of the Year. He is the only non-citizen to be awarded this merit in the 40 year history of honoring a citizen.
